Nidai Soke David Hogan - Hogan Ryu Kempo

Nidai Soke David Hogan began his martial arts career at the young age of 5, training in Shotokan Karate in 1980. Then in 1984 he began training in Ryukyu Kempo and Kyusho Jitsu under the guidance and tutelage of his father, Grandmaster Jack Hogan and Grandmaster George Dilman.

Grandmaster Hogan has trained with and alongside many world class martial arts masters; from Professor Wally Jay, Grandmaster Leon Jay, Professor Remy Presas and many others worldwide. Grandmaster Hogan became the second-generation head of the Hogan Karate International (HKI) organization, in 2017 after the passing of his father and founder.

HKI, which is represented throughout the United States, Canada, Costa Rica, Ireland and England continues to grow and evolve under Grandmaster Hogan’s direction, leadership and stewardship. Grandmaster Hogan also holds a 6th degree black belt in Ju-jitsu under Grandmaster John Duggan. In 2025, Grandmaster Hogan was honored by his senior students and several internationally recognized martial artists with his 10th degree in Hogan Ryu Kempo and Goju-ryu Kempo.
